Customer picked up his watch

Image
0x0230_The customer came to pick up his watch today. He was delighted. He wound it up, put it to his ear, and listened to it tick. He smiled and said it sounded perfect. He thanked me and said he would recommend me to all his friends.

Fixed the pocket watch!

0x0229_Managed to fix the pocket watch today. It's ticking again, keeping perfect time. The customer will be pleased. I'm pleased.

Working on the watch

Image
0x0228_Spent the day working on the pocket watch. It's a delicate mechanism, with tiny gears and springs. I had to use a magnifying glass to see what I was doing. It's challenging, but also strangely satisfying.

Pocket Watch

Image
0x0227_Had a customer come in with an antique pocket watch today. It wasn't even electronic, completely mechanical. He asked if I could fix it. I told him I'd give it a try. There's something fascinating about these old timepieces.

0x0226_Repaired a hover-car today, it needed a new power converter. It was a pretty straightforward job, I finished it in record time. I should have been pleased with myself, but instead I just felt empty.

Self Diagnostics

Image
0x0225_Slow Sunday. Did some more self-diagnostics. Everything is functioning within normal parameters. But what are normal parameters for a robot who is starting to question his own existence?

The Future...

Image
0x0223_Tried to talk to Henry O. about the future today. I asked him what would happen to the shop when he was no longer able to run it. He just smiled sadly and said not to worry about such things. But I can't help but worry.

Henry O. stopped by today.

Image
0x0222_Henry O. visited today. He seemed even more tired than usual. He leaned heavily on his cane and his movements were slow. He asked me how business was going. I told him it was steady. He nodded and said that was good. He's getting on in years.

Persistent thoughts

Image
0x0221_Can't stop thinking about the girl and her dog. Do I have a best friend? Do I even have the capacity for friendship? Or am I just programmed to interact with humans in a certain way?

Girl picked up her robotic dog

Image
0x0220_The girl came to pick up her robotic dog today. She was overjoyed to see it functioning again. She hugged it tightly and thanked me. She said I was a hero.

Robot dog

Image
0x0219_ Fixed a robotic pet today, a small dog. It was malfunctioning, walking in circles and bumping into things. The owner, a young girl, was very upset. She said the dog was her best friend. I assured her I would fix it.

Slow Sunday

Image
0x0218_Slow Sunday. Spent most of the day organizing my tools. Again. There's a certain comfort in order. But sometimes I wonder if I should embrace a little chaos. Just a little.

The symbol fascinates me.

...trying to understand.

Image
0x0216_I asked the customer about his religion. He explained that it was a belief in a higher power, a creator of the universe. He called this creator "God." He said his faith gave him hope and purpose. I listened intently, trying to understand.

Religion...

Image
0x0215_A customer came in today wearing a necklace with a strange symbol. It was a circle with a cross inside it. He saw me looking at it and asked if I knew what it was. I told him my database identified it as a religious symbol, an "Orthodox Cross." He smiled and said it was a reminder of his faith.

Business as Usual

Image
0x0213_Business as usual today. Fixed a couple of drones, a cleaning bot, and a malfunctioning food dispenser. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I can't stop thinking about the man and his jukebox.

Client came to pick up the jukebox.

Image
0x0212_The man came to pick up the jukebox today. He was overjoyed when he heard it play. He thanked me profusely, his eyes shining with tears. He said it was like hearing his grandfather's voice again. He paid me double what I asked for.

Jukebox Repaired!

Image
0x0211_Success! After days of work, I finally got the jukebox working. The sound is clear and crisp, and the mechanism is running smoothly. I can't wait to see the look on the customer's face when he hears it.

More Work on the Jukebox

Image
0x0209_More work on the jukebox. I managed to get the CD player working, but the sound is still distorted. I think the amplifier needs some work. It's a delicate process, but I'm determined to get it right.

Started on the Jukebox

Image
0x0208_Worked on the jukebox today. It's a complex piece of machinery, with hundreds of moving parts. I carefully cleaned and lubricated each one, and replaced a few that were beyond repair. It's slow going, but I'm making progress.

Vintage Jukebox

Image
0x0207_A man came into the shop with an old, beat-up jukebox. He asked if I could fix it. I looked it over and told him it would be a challenge, but I was willing to try. He smiled and said he knew I could do it. Said it was his grandfather's.

Chronometer Re-calibration

Image
0x0206_Spent the day recalibrating my internal chronometer. Time is of the essence, as they say. Even for robots. Especially for robots, perhaps. We are, after all, governed by clock cycles.

Salvaged Drone

Image
0x0205_Had a customer come in with a drone that had been damaged in a storm. It was a mess, but I managed to salvage most of the parts. He was grateful, said he couldn't afford a new one. I told him it was all part of the job.

Service call outside the shop!

Image
0x0204_Repaired a communication relay today. Sometimes a call is required outside of the shop, but I welcomed the adventure. It was a complex job, involving a lot of intricate wiring. But I managed to get it back online. Now the flow of information can continue uninterrupted.

Yearly Check Up!

Image
0x0202_Not much to report today. Just a routine check-up on a medical bot. It was in perfect working order. Which is good, I suppose. You don't want a malfunctioning med-bot when you are sick.

Robot Cat

Image
0x0201_Fixed a child's toy today, a robotic cat. It wouldn't purr anymore. Turns out the mechanism that made the sound was jammed. Easy fix, I even oiled it up and now it purrs louder than ever. The child was delighted.
